Snag is an instant delivery service focusing exclusively on providing convenient store goods to college students. We directly employ drivers who deliver on e-bikes or scooters and carry all inventory in our company-owned dark stores.

Company

Snag started at UCSB by students, for students. It now operates 11 stores across the U.S. We have built a fully vertically-integrated tech stack allowing us to manage our stores, inventory and process orders using our employee mobile app.

Mission

We emerged as a direct response to the exorbitant fees and long wait times that plague existing delivery services. We’re providing the fastest delivery service available with deliveries being fulfilled within 10 min, all while ensuring affordability.

Growth

We are an early startup startup. In 2024 we grew to a total of 11 stores across multiple states in the U.S. In July of 2024, we raised $4.5m in an oversubscribed seed round led by top-tier investors that gives us 4 years of runway.

Last year, we were on 6 college campuses and served 40k customers. Our stores generated more revenue per square foot than Trader Joe’s.

What you’ll be doing

This is a true full-stack role. You’ll be using Flutter frontend and Node/TypeScript serverless cloud backend to work on features for our customer and employee mobile apps.

What we expect from you

Full-time availability (40 hours per week, with overtime available on a case-by-case basis upon prior authorization).
Passion for working with cross-platform mobile frameworks like React Native or Flutter
Product-minded approach - make every decision around the idea of delightful customer experience and operational excellence.
Ability to quickly learn backend development (especially in improving scalability or performance) using technologies like TypeScript, Javascript, or Node
Ownership mentality. We’re a small team with a large technology surface area to cover, so you’ll have full ownership of the features you work on.

Bonus exposure

Native mobile development in either Android (Java/Kotlin) or iOS (Swift) for extensions, plugins or troubleshooting.
Understanding of serverless architecture and distributed cloud applications.
Familiarity with security best practices
